Decided without a hearing

Decision given on: 11 June 2025

Between

STEFAN ALAN PEAT

Appellant

and

THE REGISTRAR OF APPROVED DRIVING INSTRUCTORS

Respondent

Decision: The appeal is struck out pursuant to Rule 8(3)(a) of the Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (General Regulatory Chamber) Rules 2009 (‘the Rules’).

REASONS

1.

The Tribunal received an incomplete Notice of Appeal dated 20 December 2024 from the Appellant. He failed to provide a written copy of the decision he wished to appeal, contrary to Rule 22(3) of the Rules (‘the Decision’), nor did he state any grounds of appeal.

2.

The Appellant was invited on 27 January 2025 to address both issues within 28 days. The Appellant failed to do so.

3.

The Tribunal issued Case Management Directions dated 11 March 2025 directing the Appellant to address both issues by 25 March 2025, failing which his appeal may be struck out pursuant Rule 8(3)(a) of the Rules as having no reasonable prospect of success, without further direction. The Appellant failed to comply.

4.

I have considered the matter and have had regard to the overriding objective that requires the Tribunal to deal with appeals fairly and justly.

5.

This appeal is struck out pursuant to Rule 8(3)(a) of the Rules.
